A man has been calling people pretending to be a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office sergeant, claiming he needs to speak to people about a “confidential legal matter,” and PBSO is warning people that the call is a scam.
In a voicemail released by the Sheriff’s Office Thursday, the man identified himself as Sgt. Timothy McCann who had a “signed written document” that he needed to “rectify.” He is asking people to call him back.
The Sheriff’s Office said if anyone receives this call or a similar one to hang up and call 911.
