Boca Chamber Festival Days returns with events to benefit nonprofits

From enjoying margaritas at Rocco’s Tacos to having a laugh at a comedy night, this year’s Boca Chamber Festival Days is packed with opportunities to have fun while benefiting good causes.

With the goal of raising awareness and funds for its nonprofit members’ philanthropic efforts, Boca Chamber Festival Days are returning throughout August.

As the Boca Chamber’s outreach to the nonprofit community, the events are created and operated by a pairing of nonprofit and for-profit chamber members.

Kicking off the month, Tijuana Flats, 22191 Powerline Road, in Boca Raton will be supporting the Golden Bell Education Foundation by donating 20% of its sales from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2. Customers just need to mention “Spirit Night” while dining or by adding “SPNT145″ to checkout online.

Inviting residents and their four-legged friends, Mission PAWSsible will be raising funds for Vets Helping Heroes, a nonprofit that provides service dogs to disabled veterans, at Walt’s American Grill, 6030 SW 18th St., in Boca Raton from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10.

The Boca Raton Marriott, 5150 Town Center Circle, is teaming up with the Boca Raton Police Foundation for its “Back the Blue Taste Passport” event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11. Patrons will get the chance to sample food or a beverage at five locations in the Boca Center. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 the day of the event.

Supporters can enjoy happy hour at Rocco’s Tacos, 5250 Town Center Circle, in Boca Raton from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 while helping raise awareness about child sex abuse and prevention programs nonprofit KidsSafe provides. Attendees will receive two signature drinks and one of Rocco’s favorite appetizers. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $35 or $40 at the door.

Celebrating 10 years of competition, the Battle of the Bartenders will return from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at the Boca Raton Marriot, 5150 Town Center Circle. Tickets are $35 in advance and $50 at the door. Tickets include two drinks and appetizers.

Rounding out the Boca Festival Days events, the Brain Bowl Comedy Night on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at Oceans 234, 234 N Ocean Blvd., is set to benefit Alzheimer’s research. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., supporters can enjoy a night of comedy while voting for their favorite comedian at the end of the event. Tickets are $40. The event is limited to 50 seats.

  • Wednesday, Aug. 18: Boca’s Got Talent for Child Rescue Coalition at Crazy Uncle Mike’s (6450 N. Federal Highway, in Boca Raton)
  • Saturday, Aug. 21: The Chamber’s Wine and All That Jazz! (The Waldorf Astoria Collection, 501 E Camino Real, in Boca Raton)
  • Wednesday, Aug. 25: Celebrity Game Night for American Association of Caregiving Youth at Crazy Uncle Mike’s (6450 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton)
  • Monday, Aug. 30: Last Look Summer Party at the Boca Museum of Art (501 Plaza Real in Boca Raton)
