A 49-year-old Boynton Beach man died after his SUV was rear-ended on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County, the Florida Highway Patrol announced Thursday.
The crash happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday on I-95 North near the 6th Avenue exit.
According to troopers, a sedan driven by a 55-year-old Lake Worth man was headed north in the outside exit lane as it approached the exit, and the sedan rear-ended the Boynton man’s SUV.
The impact caused the SUV to spin counterclockwise.
The sedan careened to the right, went off the road and hit a concrete barrier. The driver survived the crash with serious injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time, the FHP said.
The Boynton man was taken to JFK Medical Center where he later died. His identity has not been released by authorities.
