DELRAY BEACH — A brush fire in east Delray Beach shut down traffic on a major road for part of Tuesday afternoon.
Delray Beach and Palm Beach County firefighters fought flames that ate up 10 acres of brush on the east side of Congress Avenue for nearly two and a half hours, authorities said. The road was closed in both directions between Linton Boulevard and Southwest 10th Avenue.
No one was injured in the blaze, and fire officials haven’t yet determined what may have caused it.
The road reopened about 5 p.m.
