Under the screenname “Dandy Daddy,” a Lantana man has admitted to distributing and possessing thousands of videos and images depicting child sexual abuse, federal prosecutors say.

Carl Lee Jasperse, 67, pleaded guilty to distributing and possessing the child pornography and was sentenced to 102 months, about 8 and a half years, Monday in federal court in West Palm Beach.

Jasperse used Kik, a popular messaging app, to talk with users about child pornography and trade files with others. According to the criminal complaint, the messaging app logged over 4,800 exchanges between Jasperse and dozens of other users.

A search warrant from January showed videos and messages on an iPhone in Jasperse’s home, to which he later admitted to sending and receiving. He told prosecutors he was the man behind the Kik account and said that he used Kik chat rooms to communicate with approximately 100 people, the complaint says.

Some he messaged hundreds of times. In a matter of days, he uploaded 27 videos. One victim in a video Jasperse uploaded to the app was as young as 4 years old, the complaint says. Other victims shown engaging in sex acts with adults were approximately 5 or 6 years old and 8 years old.

After he finishes his sentence, Jasperse will be on supervised release for 20 years. He has been ordered to pay $31,000 restitution to victims, according to prosecutors.
