All northbound lanes on Florida’s Turnpike are closed just before the exit to Glades Road after a deadly accident in Boca Raton involving a tractor trailer and two cars, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at about 4:40 Tuesday. One person died at the crash site, the highway patrol confirmed.
Traffic was backed up to the Sawgrass Expressway in Broward County early Tuesday.
Police are directing traffic in the area, turning cars around at the Palmetto Park overpass and sending the drivers southbound on the shoulder of the northbound lanes.
