After canceling the event the past two years, the Delray Beach Home Tour returned to support the Achievement Centers for Children & Families, attracting visitors throughout South Florida to enjoy the scenic Lake Ida neighborhood in Delray Beach.

The home tour gave guests a chance to explore unique residences while helping support children and families throughout Delray Beach and surrounding neighborhoods.

Guests also enjoyed a catered luncheon as well as trolley service between the homes. All event tickets sales and sponsorships benefit the organization that supports educational growth, skill-building and healthy lifestyles for children.

“Each year, we select a different Delray Beach neighborhood where homeowners showcase different interior designs and architectural styles,” Kari Shipley, co-chairwoman of this year’s organizing committee, said in a statement.

“The Home Tour featured a variety of homes that ranged from elegant Florida bungalows, lakeside estates to lush tropical gardens, providing home decorating and gardening enthusiasts with an inside look into the world of distinctive Delray living,” she said.

The Delray Beach Home Tour was first launched by longtime ACCF board members and supporters Anne Bright and Barbara Murphy, who managed to draw over 600 visitors annually in past years.

With a large amount of planning required, the event featured over 100 volunteers.

The ACCF supports children and families in numerous fields, including early learning, out-of-school programs, teen mentoring, and family strengthening and economic stabilization programs.

“Continued support from our community has allowed us to keep our doors open to serve our children and families at a time when they have needed us most,” ACCF chief development officer Jessica Hall said in a statement. “We were thrilled to get back on track with this year’s Home Tour, as the community’s needs have only increased. It is our mission and privilege to make an important difference in the lives of the children and families we serve.”
