Anquan Boldin was recently one of four new board members elected to the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

Boldin, 40, of Delray Beach, a retired NFL football player, is joined by Fabiola Brumley, president of Palm Beach County for Bank of America; Tammy Jackson-Moore, founder of Tammy’s Closet; and Meredith Trim, president and sole director of Ventus Charitable Foundation.

Boldin is not only well-known for his 14 years playing in the NFL but also for his philanthropy, social advocacy and humanitarianism.

The 1998 Pahokee High School graduate went on to star at Florida State University and was a second-round draft pick for the Arizona Cardinals. Boldin also played professionally with the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens, where he officially retired in 2019 after winning a Super Bowl title.

Among numerous accolades and records, Boldin was named NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2015 for his community service work.

He currently serves as the co-founder of the Players Coalition, an independent player-driven nonprofit with a mission of ending social injustices and racial inequality. In addition, he and his wife Dionne formed the Anquan Boldin Foundation in 2004 with a mission to expand the educational and life opportunities for underserved youth.

“Together with our donors, our mission is to serve as the leading catalyst for building vibrant communities through meaningful philanthropy,” said Danita D. Nias, president and CEO of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. “As we approach our 50th anniversary year in 2022, this new board leadership team and the addition of four new board members well positions our Community Foundation for exciting things ahead.”

The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties has provided over $150 million in grants and scholarships over its nearly 50-year history. With over $200 million in assets, it is one of Florida’s largest community foundations. Through the support of its donors and fundholders, the foundation has been able to address some of the community’s most pressing needs, including hunger, housing and education.

The new board officers include Julie Fisher Cummings, chairwoman; Susan P. Brockway, vice-chairwoman; Dennis S. Hudson, III, treasurer; and Christina M. Macfarland, secretary, according to Nias.
