BOYNTON BEACH — A girl was followed and attacked Sunday night in Boynton Beach, but she was able fend off the man and escape, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The attempted sexual assault happened at about 8:45 p.m. Sunday near a canal in on the south side of West Boynton Beach Boulevard, west of Jog Road. The majority of the area appears to be densely populated, with suburban homes lining the streets in nearly every direction.
According to the sheriff’s office, the victim broke free from the man and ran home. The man also took off, but the girl did not see the direction in which he ran.
The suspect is described as roughly 30 years old, 6 feet tall with a skinny build. He was wearing black pants with a black hooded sweatshirt with a pocket in front.
