DELRAY BEACH — Two months after two adults were found dead in a car stopped on I-95 near Linton Boulevard in Delray Beach, police ruled the incident as a murder-suicide.
Allan James Hanley, 37, turned a gun on a 31-year-old woman who was in the car with him, shot and killed her, before then shooting himself in the head, police said.
The woman’s name will not be released because her family chose to invoke Marsy’s Law, which shields crime victims who do not want to be identified.
A 6-year-old child was sitting in the back seat of the car when a Florida Highway Patrol trooper arrived. The child was taken to the police department.
Hanley and the woman were both found dead in the front seats of a car with gunshot wounds, according to the incident report.
Two guns and empty shell casings were also found inside the car, according to police.
It is unclear how Hanley, the woman and the child may be related.
