Man dies in wrong-way crash on I-95 near Atlantic Boulevard

A 56-year-old man from Greenacres died in a two-car crash, and a 23-year-old man who was driving the wrong way was seriously injured early Saturday morning on Interstate 95 near Atlantic Boulevard, officials said.

The 23-year-old, who was driving a sedan, was going south at about 3:20 a.m. in the center northbound lane of I-95 just north of Atlantic Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 56-year-old was driving a SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) in the same lane.

The left front side of the sedan collided with the left front of the SUV.

The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The sedan driver was taken to Delray Medical Center.

FHP is investigating the crash.
