Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run in Boca Raton

BOCA RATON — One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in Boca Raton, police said.

Both people were on a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was hit by a sedan whose driver did not stop, according to Boca Raton police.

The crash happened around 11 p.m. in the 1700 block of West Palmetto Park Road, not far from the Interstate 95 North exit.

Police said the sedan, believed to be light-colored and possibly silver, crossed into the motorcycle’s lane as both drivers exited the expressway and were traveling west on West Palmetto Park Road.

The driver and passenger riding the Harley were thrown off on impact.

The driver died at the crash site, according to police. The injured passenger was taken to Delray Medical Center.

The sedan may have front-end damage.

No further details were provided by police.
