Veterans Day is Nov. 11. South Florida events include readings, presentations, picnics and parades. Some events and venues ask participants not to bring food and coolers. Also, organizers for many in-person. events request that attendees follow physical distancing and other CDC protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fort Lauderdale. Veteran Family Day, 11 a.m.-2p.m, Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park, 2520 NW Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale. Broward County Library’s Vet’s Fest. Nov. 6-24, Broward County Library. Free online and in-person events featuring awesome authors, special Director’s Book Club discussions and presentations. Multiple locations.

Hollywood. Veteran Barbeque, voucher program in place of in-person event. The City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts celebrate local Hollywood veterans with a meal at a Hollywood restaurant by obtaining a voucher. Military ID/DD214 is required. . Vouchers must be picked up Nov. 8-10 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Administration Office, 1405 S. 28th Ave., Hollywood. Wilton Manors. Veterans Day Ceremony, 11 a.m., Hagen Park Community Center, Wilton Manors. Hear stories and letters home from soldiers in each of the U.S. wars, hosted by the City of Wilton Manors Leisure Services Department.

Weston. Veterans Day Family Celebration, 2-6 p.m., Bonaventure Town Center Club, 16690 Saddle Club Road, Weston. Complimentary burgers and dogs along with live music and face painting. Space limited. Reservation required.

Davie. Veterans Day Celebration, 2-5 p.m., Tree Tops Park, 3900 SW 100th Ave., Davie. Family-friendly event is open to the public. There will be music, games, prizes and food. Catered meals by Mission BBQ must be purchased in advance. A ceremony will honor military veterans.

Lake Worth Beach. Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony, 11 a.m., Parade and Ceremony of Honor, honoring the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Cultural Plaza, 414 Lake Ave., Lake Worth.

West Palm Beach. Veterans Parade, 2 p.m., hosted by the City of West Palm Beach. Parade travels from west to east on Clematis, starting at Rosemary Avenue and ending at Flagler Drive. Featuring emcees Tim & Chelsea from New Country 103.1 and USMC veteran Brian Edwards will announce parade participants as they pass. Grand Marshal is RADM Thomas C. Lynch, USN (Ret.). Boca Raton. Veterans Day Ceremony, 9:30 a.m., Veterans Park, 9400 W. Palmetto Park Road. VFW Post 10556, Boca Raton, participation by the VFW, the Vietnam Veterans Of America, the Jewish War Veterans and local HS JROTC units, the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps and the Civil Air Patrol.

Miami. Miami-Dade County Veteran’s Appreciation Day Dinner, 6-10 p.m., 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, 1395 NW 57t Ave., Miami. This free dinner is to honor veterans for their service and sacrifice made to the country, while building awareness of the needs of the military men, women, veterans, and their families.

Pinecrest. Veteran’s Day Picnic, 4-6 p.m., Veterans Wayside Park, 11111 Pinecrest Parkway, Pinecrest. Veterans and Gold Star families with an Honor Guard presentation, a pinning ceremony, a wreath ceremony, music, and a complimentary picnic lunch.

Miami-Dade County. Second annual Miami-Dade County’s Veterans Appreciation Day Caravan, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Seminole Boat Ramp Parking Lot, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami. Presented in recognition of National Military Appreciation Month, by the Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department through its Miami-Dade County Veterans Services Coalition, and in collaboration with AARP.
