A West Palm Beach man is facing a murder charge after deputies say he used his car to kill a man suspected of firing a gun in his neighborhood Saturday morning, then left the vehicle behind as evidence after losing control of it.
Brandon Cowins, 25, was jailed without bond, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera.
The victim, whose name has not been released, had fired several shots in Cowins’ neighborhood, Barbera said in a news release. No one was injured, but Cowins got angry and got in his car to follow the man. “Cowins struck the deceased intentionally with his vehicle, then lost control and hit a residence in the 4200 block of Sanders Drive,” Barbera wrote.
It was unclear Saturday if Cowins had retained a lawyer.
